About Karen

Karen received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the State University of New York at Binghamton and a Master of Science in Nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University, in Richmond, Virginia. She earned her Certificate of Nurse-Midwifery in 1995 from the Frontier School of Nurse-Midwifery and Family Nursing in Hyden, Kentucky.

Karen has over thirty years of experience in Women’s Health Care (attending more than 2,000 births). Previously she worked with Shenandoah Maternity Center, in Martinsburg, West Virginia, as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner in Centreville, VA, and most recently for Loudoun Community Midwives in Dulles, VA. During her career, Karen has worked with several Universities as a Clinical Instructor for Nursing, Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Midwifery, and Family Medicine students.

Karen has lived in Northern Virginia for the past 35 years, and in addition to her passion for caring for pregnant women and their families, she provides Women’s Health care to women of all ages, including adolescent and menopausal women.
